Steininger

Kamptal, Austria

In 1980, farmers Karl and Bridget Steininger took over the winery from the prior generation, Karl’s parents. After multiple trips to Champagne in the mid-80’s they launched their now famous sparkling wines in 1989. The Steininger’s believe making good wine is a way of life, and is a result of natural influences coming together at just the right time. Concentrating on the most important varieties of the Kamptal: Gruner Veltliner and Riesling, this farming family is tuned into every inch of their land and theeffects of terroir on their still and sparkling wines.
